Adult and Continuing Education degree programs
A master's in adult and continuing education program prepares you to teach and support adult learners in settings that reach beyond the traditional K-12 classroom. Students include instructors in adult basic education and high school equivalency programs, workforce and corporate trainers, community college faculty, and coordinators of continuing education. The degree focuses on how adults learn differently from children, program design, and instructional strategies for people who are balancing school with work and family, and it commonly leads to roles in adult literacy, GED and diploma completion, and lifelong learning programs.
